He has a friend who is a cop, and one weekend they just went out for a drink. The cop was off-duty and he was in civilian clothing. The off-duty cop was driving. They were driving along the road, and suddenly a cop in an RCMP cruiser starts chasing them, instructing them to pull over. They were speeding -- and about to get a ticket for it. The cop went to the window and asked for his driver's license and secondary identification.
It just so happened that his secondary ID was his Police ID. When the cop about to give him a ticket saw this, he just laughed it off, and told him to "Try not to speed, buddy." Once again, I must say; WHAT THE HELL!!!! The Police are NOT above the law, so why do they act like they are?
I saw an article in The Province today.. actually it wasn't an article, it was a letter from someone defending a recent action taken by the Vancouver Police. You know sometimes when you're stopped at a red light, and someone comes to clean your window? Well the next time you see a squeegee kid come to wash your window, be aware, it might be a cop doing a seatbelt check. Do cops have nothing better to do than pose as some of the poorest people in our society so they can nab you for not having your seatbelt on, and charge you a fine? A fine that, by the way, will never go towards anything you would approve of?
Example: Parallel to my street, there is a street called "Royal Oak". This used to be the steepest street in Burnaby; maybe all of Vancouver. The government decided to rebuild it, make it a curve, so it was not so steep anymore. They built a completely new street, raised, like a bridge, that curves to the left, then back to the right again; and now its not as steep as before. Its still steep, mind you. To the right of it, is the old Royal Oak. Now instead of leaving the construction at that, they decided to build a paved footpath along the old street. This footpath curves back and forth about 4 to 5 times as it goes up the old Royal Oak. The local papers reported that the "improvement" to the old Royal Oak street cost the municipality a whopping total of $190,000. That miniscule footpath, that has been there for almost two years now, and looks brand new. Why does it look brand new? Well, because nobody uses it!!! WHAT THE HELL!!! I could have told the city that LONG before they even FATHOMED building it! But nooooooooo, the city must have its little footpath. The new road cost enough -- what need is there for the footpath, the new road came with a sidewalk for fuck's sake!!! But I digress.
As shown above, the city has many useless things to spend your money on, like a differently designed skytrain station for each stop along the way -- no, identical stations weren't good enough -- they needed a different architect to design each of the new stations. I have no idea how much more it cost to build it this way, but I'm sure its a huge cost.
The fast ferries... need I say more? So here are those cops -- posing as squeegee kids, doing seatbelt checks. Someone remind me why we have cops again? the police are like some sort of totalitarian gestapo. They don't listen to you... If you think you can find someone to listen to your complaints -- you're mistaken. They don't care -- all they care about is their goddamn speeding tickets and dough-nuts... That's all I have to say about that. Feel free to flame the hell out of me.

This is not an essay. The de-definition of art seems to be the only way to create new art. The more an artist re-defines, and de-defines art, the fresher the piece is. This paper will be a culmination of what I have learned through this semester in English 377; Sonnets. This semester, I have not done as much learning as I have done experiencing. English 377 is unlike any class I have ever taken, and the experience was very interesting. What I have realized near the end of the class is that this English course was more a review of all modern art, than just focusing on Barrigan or Shakespeare. For two short months I had the opportunity to look into the world of modern art, through the eyes of someone who really appreciates it. It was great to finally get an inkling of what modern art is really about. I do not know if I have the right idea or not, but if I have listened correctly through the semester, I can assume that having the “right” idea is not always what we should aim for. I am hoping that this essay will express what I feel modern art is “about”. I will admit, that I am very skeptical about many of the things we went over in class, but at the same time I am very interested in them. With my limited study in the area of modern art, I have come to one major conclusion. For art to be art, it constantly must change. Traditional art was considered art, because it was ground-breaking, and so it must be with all art. How can art be ground-breaking if it has all been done before? This is why art must be constantly re-defined and de-defined. Art used to be something specific, now it can be anything. This is not an essay. This is a sonnet.

This is where YOU can help me! Give me some ideas for "A Piece of Non-Narrative Prose". I have to write some "non narrative prose". What will I write? If worst comes to worst, I can just write nonsense, but I kinda want it to be better than that. My comments don't work properly and I don't know why. It shows all the comments people have left. Which is only 8, but its still annoying. I went out for dinner tonight with Mike, we ate at Mr. Ho's. Chinese food is good when you don't have it for a long time. I've been working my new job a lot.... working Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays, nine to four. Its a very interesting job. Lots of time for myself. Yesterday was my first day at work... mostly just reminicing about highschool. I think the reason I was hired was because we went to the same highschool, St. Thomas More. (Too bad that school might be sold soon). So yah.. It was a lot of fun. Probably a lot more fun than the regular shift I will be working when I am fully trained. Thats when I start work at 12am on Saturday morning (Friday night) and work till 8am that Saturday...
So thats kinda cool, I mean, I'll be making an easy $11 an hour. That is more than enough for rent, even working 2 days a week, if I get a day job at the same time, I may be even able to afford school or a car! So I'm looking for a new job. I found some more places, here they are:
1200 square feet, 2 bedrooms, my own laundry, kitchen, living room, bathroom, for $600 a month!
I think that one is really cool. Man 1200 square feet is bigger than my gf's house, which is 1150 square feet!!! And she lives in a 2 bedroom house with 3 other people (her family)!!!
Anyways, school is getting really busy. August 1st is my last day, and everything is due then. I have 2 final papers due (each more than 10 pages, but its double spaced, so its more like 7 pages each), I have a presentation to do, I have 2 creative critiques to do, and a take-home final exam. So I have a lot of work to do in the next 2 weeks. I'm gonna start working hard. Then I have a month free!! Yay! Then I go back to school in September... (maybe) If I move out, I will have to get a student loan, and then I will be back in school anyways! :) So I will go to school anyways, no matter if I live at home or not! I mean, I have to finish my major right?! Woohoo! Thanks for your comments!! :)

If you've heard the song Johnny by my favourite band System of a Down you would know in what kind of voice I am introducing myself.
I had a great day with a rough ending today. I went rollerblading in Stanley park... That was fun, tanned for 2 hours... (burned the side of my face but thats ok), and went swimming. It was great! Dinner tasted good, I had some good laughs, ate some chocolate, drank some slurpee. So as you can see, it was a great day. I spent it all with Aggie. She is so sweet. Anyways, you know whos not sweet? My mother. She phoned me and yelled at me at the top of her lungs not to take her van to have "sex" in it. She did not let me say anything in between her accusations, and forced me to come home immediately. She then told me she'd kill me and promptly hung up the phone with a slam.
I thought to myself, 'Well, if I explain everything slowly, and in a low voice, maybe she'll see reason'. Boy was I mistaken. She didn't even let me say anything. While I was driving home she called my girlfriend's house, and told her that she was having sex in her van. My girlfriend, being totally confused, of course denied this (we didn't have sex. in the van). My mother screamed at her, calling her a liar and a whore. She then promptly hung up the phone with a slam. My household's poor telephone. Tonight my mother also told me that she hopes I "find a place soon" so I can "get out of here". I'm thinking of a student loan and moving in with my best friend Mike. There is a basement suite on Royal Oak and Kingsway with 2 bedrooms and 800 square feet. The rent is 500 a month. I think it is quite reasonable, but I'm not sure. What do you think? Please post some comments!
